Trail Running 🌳 πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ πŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ 🌳

With an number of our member about to embark on the Birdy’s Backyard Ultra challenge tomorrow, it’s a fitting time to talk about our best trail running tips. Here a some from our members -

πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ bring a basic first aid kit, including a snake bandage and if you are going solo always tell someone where you are going.

πŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ look after your feet, when you are in a hole remember it will get better. But mostly, look after your feet.

πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ forget about pace, the unusual mix of terrain will always make your pace unpredictable.

πŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ when running single trails concentration on foot placement is essential to avoid falls and injuries.

πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ take plenty of water.

πŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ find a map of the area to help with navigation. Apps such as trail forks and alltrails are recommended.

πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ stop, take your time, enjoy the view and the nature that surrounds you. After all that’s why we drive all that way for a run!

πŸƒπŸ½β€β™‚οΈ and our top tip is, being a good beverage for after the run! 🍻 🍻

Thanks to our members who provided these tips and good look to our Birdy’s runners! πŸ‘
